Distribution of fair incomes to everyone involved

By coming to Konglor-Natane, you participate to the improvement of living conditions for the local populations. The new incomes enable not only people to stay and live better in their homeland but to confirm a local development model as well. Each kip you spend here is distributed fairly and allows to:

  • maintain the infrastructures,
  • promote the site,
  • create new ecotourism activities and new site preservation tools,
  • make a part time income to the 130 staff of the AEKN managing the cave
  • create indirect jobs for 128 people (guesthouse, homestay, transportation, etc.)

Crafts

Women villagers from Konglor and Natane gathered to work together. Using these craft groups, they teach the art of weaving to younger ones so that the technique will perpetuate. It is a way for women to keep their craft traditions while developing their own business and provide an extra income. Part of the revenue is shared between the women of the group, and the rest is saved for regular purchase of equipment and raw materials. This sustainable system allows women villagers to be autonomous in the management of their own business.

By buying handicrafts made locally by women villagers from Konglor and Natane, you support directly the local economy! If you wish, you can even try your hand at weaving. Ask directly to the women there, they will be pleased to teach the basics of this art.
